Superintendent Lisha Cabral and Athletic Director Merry MacDonald are pleased to recognize the Oliver Ames High School student-athletes from the Class of 2024 who have committed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
On Wednesday, Nov. 8, eight student-athletes, dressed in clothing from the colleges they will be attending in the fall, were recognized by the Athletic Department in the school’s Nixon Gymnasium with family members, teammates and coaches present.
The Oliver Ames student-athletes who were recognized included:
- Joey Carney – Men’s Soccer, Bentley College
- Erin Cottam – Field Hockey, Merrimack College
- Sarah Hilliard – Volleyball, Bucknell University
- Olivia O’Rourke – Women’s Lacrosse, St. Anselm College
- Annie Reilly – Cross Country and Track, Colgate College
- Lucas Riley – Baseball, Merrimack College
- Katie Sobieraj – Cross Country and Track, Furman University
- Brendan Thomas – Cross Country and Track, Butler University
“I am so proud of this remarkable achievement by our student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level. This is a culmination of all the time, effort, sacrifice and hard work that they have put into their respective sports since a young age,” Athletic Director MacDonald said. “These eight student-athletes truly embody what it means to be an Oliver Ames Tiger. I want to wish them the best of luck as they will head into the next chapter of their academic and athletic careers.”
