The School Counseling Department gives presentations to every class every year. For all students, we do course selection workshops in March on how to choose classes for the upcoming year. We also have a Guidance curriculum that we do in conjunction with our Naviance software. Freshmen learn how to log onto Naviance, set goals, and take a Multiple Intelligence Test. Sophomores learn about the world of work and take an Interest Inventory. Juniors learn about the basics of college searches and the application process. Seniors learn the nuts and bolts of the application process. We also do a Common Application Workshop every August to help seniors start their applications.
For parents, we offer a Junior Parent Night around December each year, where we help them start the process of the college search, and a Senior Parent Night in September to jump-start the application season. Videos of these presentations are below.
