Welcome back for the 2023-2024 school year. Our amazing team of educators has been busy setting up classrooms and offices, sending messages, collecting information, and preparing lessons in anticipation of the return of our wonderful students.
We continue to commit to Equity and Advancement. We strive to ensure that every student, staff member, and family understands that they are welcome here and that they feel safe and know they belong. It is also our responsibility to provide the resources, tools, and support for every child and young adult to grow and achieve both during their time with us and beyond.
We have many exciting programs and initiatives happening in the district and schools this year. Among them:
- New literacy program in K-7 (Wit and Wisdom)
- New Website (this is a work in progress, and we will be continuing to improve it regularly)
- Construction
- Richardson Olmsted playgrounds
- Oliver Ames basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts
- District telephone and security system upgrades
Also, in a time of staffing shortages nationwide, we have been able to continue to add the best of the best to our team. Be sure to look for new faces in every building and in central administration as well. Key members of the district team that you may look to contact include:
- Craig Davidson, Director of Special Services
- Carols Perez, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
- Livia Ramos, Director of Instructional Technology
Each of these Directors can be reached through central administration. Please remember that we are now located within the Blanche Ames Elementary School. We are across from the playground and fields, and on the opposite end of the school offices.
Please watch for important updates and information from your building administration and teachers and, as always, contact your child(ren)’s school(s) or the administrative team at the central office if we can be of assistance to your child(ren) and your family. We are thrilled to start this year with excitement and good health. Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Dr. Lisha Cabral
