Easton Public Schools Appoints New Director of Special Services

EASTON — Superintendent Lisha Cabral is pleased to announce that Craig Davidson has been appointed as the new Director of Special Services for the Easton Public Schools.

Davidson was officially appointed to the position at the Easton School Committee meeting on Thursday, May 25.

Davidson comes to the Easton Public Schools from the Old Rochester Regional School District and MA Superintendency Union #55 where he served as the districts’ Director of Student Services since August 2020. Davidson oversaw the Student Services Office, assisting school staff in working with families to meet the unique needs of students through individualized learning programs.

Also in this position, Davidson planned and provided professional development related to special education and support services, directed early education programming and services in collaboration with the early childhood coordinator, coordinated Tiered Focus Monitoring Reviews in the areas of Special Education and Civil Rights, and developed and managed grants related to the Student Services Office.

Previously, Davidson served as the Director of Special Education and Student
Services for the Bourne Public Schools from 2018-2020, and as a Special Education Teacher at Bourne High School from 2009-2018.

“I was drawn to the position by the tremendous educational opportunities students are provided at the Easton Public Schools,” Davidson said. “The positive school culture was on full display during my site visit and the most rewarding part of the process was the interactions I had with students, families, and staff members. I’m excited to be joining the team and becoming a part of this great school community.”

Davidson holds a Master of Education in Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12 and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Psychology and Special Education from Bridgewater State University.

Davidson replaces current Director of Special Services Theresa Skinner, who is pursuing a new opportunity. He was selected following a search and interview process by a district Screening Committee, which also included a site visit.

“Craig is an experienced, professional and caring educator. He was enthusiastically recommended by the Screening Committee and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team,” Superintendent Cabral said. “I would like to thank our Screening Committee for the time they’ve dedicated to this process, and I would also like to recognize Theresa for her many years of service to the district.”
